What is the Therapy Dinero program at Alejandre Foundation?
Therapy Dinero is a program within the Alejandre Foundation that awards grants for eight (8) therapy sessions at $100 per session for the Latinx community, regardless of immigration status. This program is not crisis situations (immediate need), such as suicidality, self-harm, legal matters.
Amount Granted: Alejandre Foundation’s Therapy Dinero vouchers’ maximum payment is $100 per voucher for 8 (eight) sessions, per recipient.
Should a recipient choose to continue past the 8 sessions, a financial agreement must be made between the mental health professional and recipient.
Eligibility:
Meet all of the following requirements:
- Must be 18+,
- Must identify as Latine/Latinx (have Latinx/Latine roots),
- Must not have healthcare insurance that covers mental health and
- Must have financial necessity.
This program is NOT for individuals who are seeking care for legal cases or crisis experiences (i.e., suicide-attempts or thoughts), mandated court, family/couples counseling, therapy for a child, immigration evaluation(s), coaching/consultation, clinical supervision, or as an Employee Assistance Program.
Este programa NO es para individuos que buscan asistencia en casos legales o experiencias de crisis (por ejemplo, intentos de suicidio o pensamientos relacionados), procedimientos judiciales obligatorios, asesoramiento familiar/de parejas, terapia infantil, evaluaciones de inmigración, coaching/consultoría, supervisión clínica o como Programa de Asistencia para Empleados.
Volunteers and board members will not be eligible to accept or apply to the Therapy Dinero program.
How to Apply: The 2024 application period opens on Thursday, January 18 at 8am PST and will close on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 5pm PST. Only one submission per person accepted.
How Recipients are Chosen: Chosen recipients for the Alejandre Foundation’s Therapy Dinero program will be selected through an anonymous review process. A committee of volunteers will be created to review applications. Each application they receive will not have name identifiers.
Committee will make their final selection for the 2024 round (2nd cycle) on Friday, February 2, 2024
How & When Chosen Recipients will be Notified: Selected recipients will be notified between February 5 and 12, 2024 via their preferred method as stated by the application if they were selected. Recipients will need to reply within 5 days. For clarification, therapy does not need to begin within 5 days but within 30 days of being notified.
Applications will be selected on qualified eligibility, effort in answering each question (i.e., one worded responses), and reason for requesting therapy.
Individuals who submitted an application and are not selected will be notified via email.
Declining the Grant: You will automatically decline the grant if you do not respond within 5 days of being accepted into the program. If you are unable to begin therapy within 30 days, and do not request an extension via email or text, you will be removed from the program.
Reapplying if not selected: If you were not selected for the Therapy Dinero program, you are able to reapply the following application rounds.
Reapplying if Selected: If you were accepted for the Therapy Dinero program, you are not eligible to reapply for 3 (three) years.
Therapy Dinero program Voucher information: Each selected recipient will receive a “voucher” (in the form of a letter for the provider) that has been coded to match the recipient’s name and is strictly for one-time use only. The voucher is non-transferable and resale is prohibited. If the voucher is lost, stolen, or destroyed, a replacement will not be available. The voucher is redeemable by the mental health professional approved by the recipient.
Redemption of Voucher/Therapy Dinero Grant: Redemption for therapy services must happen within 30 (thirty) days of being notified as a chosen recipient.
Mental health professionals accepting the Therapy Dinero voucher agree to be paid at the end of the 8 (eight) sessions. An invoice should be emailed or sent to us via email (he***@al*****************.org) with the recipient’s identification number provided, your business name, EIN, dates of service, and where to send payment with the options being Zelle, Venmo or an electronic invoice sent to us from your practice.
Selecting a Mental Health Professional: The Alejandre Foundation is able to carefully match recipients with providers, if desired. Recipients are free to choose a mental health professional of their choice.
The Therapist Directory on Latinx Therapy is a listing of mental health professionals across the country who provide high quality, culturally-affirming services to the Latinx community. This directory is not at all exhaustive and is meant to provide you with a place to start if you are looking for a therapist in your area.
Selected recipients of Therapy Dinero program are encouraged to visit Therapists’ websites and check with the professional licensing entities in your state to make sure that the therapist is licensed, in good standing, and eligible to practice in your state.
Please note that having a listing in the directory does not mean that the mental health professional is endorsed in any way by Alejandre Foundation.
Disclaimer of liability including the following term: Alejandre Foundation and Latinx Therapy assume no legal liability or similar for any all matters related to therapist-client relationship that may result from participation within directories as a therapist available for services for Therapy Dinero Program participants. Therapists within the directory who choose to make themselves available for the Program participants are solely responsible for adherence to professional HIPAA and legal requirements and guidelines. Similarly, therapist participants shall be responsible for professional liability insurance coverage, HIPAA and related compliance and reporting requirements, and related aspects of services provided to Pilot Program Participants. Each participant therapist agrees to relieve Alejandre Foundation and the provider network(s) of liability related to the same. By clicking yes below you are indicating a decision to be a part of the Therapy Dinero Program by the Alejandre Foundation. You are knowingly and willingly given consent to the terms above.
No Third Party Rights: Nothing expressed or referred to in the Therapy Dinero application will be construed to give any person other than the individual applicant seeking therapy any claim or right with respect to the application and/or acceptance of vouchers for free therapy.
These vouchers may not be assigned; the vouchers are for the sole and exclusive benefit of party in the intake form/applicant. The applicant affirms that they are not a third-party applicant, meaning that the individual submitting the application form is the individual named in the application. Any violation of this term by a third party applicant individual will render the individual named in the application ineligible to receive Therapy Dinero vouchers. Any violation of this term by a third party applicant therapist/counselor/psychologist will render the therapist/counselor/psychologist ineligible to request payment for sessions associated with the individual named on the application.
Grievances: If at any point during the therapy services, a recipient is not willing to continue services, the recipient must notify the Alejandre Foundation at he***@al*****************.org. Please ensure that you make every attempt to work the issue through with your therapist before requesting a switch. Only recipients who have used up less than 3 sessions will be allowed to request a new therapist. Grievances will be resolved at the discretion of the Advisory and Executive Board.

¿Qué es Therapy Dinero? Therapy Dinero es un programa dentro de la fundación Alejandre Foundation que ofrece fondos gratuitos a la comunidad Latine/x para 8 sesiones de terapia para la salud mental a un costo de $100 por sesión, sin importar el estatus migratorio.
Elegibilidad:
Cumplir con todos los siguientes requisitos:

- No tener seguro médico que cubre servicios de salud mental y

Voluntarios y miembros de la junta directiva no son elegibles para aceptar o solicitar para el programa de Therapy Dinero.
Como aplicar: El periodo de solicitud se abrirá el día jueves 18 de enero a las 8 a.m hora del Pacifico y se cerrará el día sábado 20 de enero a las 5:00pm hora del Pacifico. Sólo se aceptará una solicitud por persona.
Proceso de elegir beneficiarios: Los beneficiarios elegidos para el programa de Therapy Dinero de Alejandre Foundation serán seleccionados por medio de un proceso de revisión ciega. Un comité de voluntarios será creado para revisar solicitudes. Las solicitudes que ellos recibirán no tendrán nombre de identificación.
El comité hará su selección final para la segunda ronda el Viernes, 2 de Febrero del 2024.
Cómo y Cuando serán notificados los beneficiarios: Beneficiarios serán notificados dentro el 5 de febrero y 12 de febrero por la manera preferida que seleccionaron en la forma de solicitud. El Beneficiario tendrá que responder dentro de 5 días de la notificación. Para clarificar la terapia no se necesita empezar en esos 5 días.
Individuales que no fueron seleccionados serán notificados por medio de correo electrónico.

Aplicar de nuevo si no fue elegido: Si no fue elegido para el programa Therapy Dinero, puede aplicar de nuevo en las siguientes rondas de solicitud.
Aplicar de nuevo si fue seleccionado: Si fue seleccionado para el programa de Therapy Dinero no es elegible para aplicar de nuevo dentro de 3 (tres) años.
Rechazo del apoyo financiero: El apoyo financiero se declinará automáticamente si no responde en un plazo de 5 días después de ser aceptado en el programa. Si no puede comenzar la terapia dentro de los 30 días y no solicita una extensión por correo electrónico o mensaje de texto, será eliminado del programa.
Información de los vales para el programa Therapy Dinero: Cada recipiente seleccionado recibirá un vale (en forma de carta para el profesional de salid mental) que ha sido certificado al nombre del recipiente y será disponible estrictamente para un solo uso. El vale es intransferible y su reventa está prohibida. En el caso que el vale se pierda, sea robado o destruido no se le podrá reemplazar. El vale se podrá ser redimido por el profesional de salud mental aprobado por el recipiente.
Reembolso del vale/ Beca del programa Therapy Dinero: Reembolso para el servicio de terapia necesita ser completado dentro un mes de servicio de ser notificado como el recipiente escogido.
Los profesionales de salud mental que acepten nuestro vale de Therapy Dinero estarán de acuerdo de ser pagados al final de 8(ocho) sesiones. La factura será enviada por correo electrónico con el número de identificación del recipiente que se le será proporcionado.
Cantidad concedida: Los vales del programa Therapy Dinero de la Alejandre Foundation son de un máximo de un pago de $100 por vale por 8 (ocho) sesiones por recipiente.
En caso que un beneficiario decida continuar después de las 8 sesiones, un acuerdo financiero tendrá que ser hecho entre el beneficiario y el profesional de salud mental.
Seleccionar a un Profesional de Salud Mental: Si el beneficiario requiere de ayuda en encontrar un proveedor de salud mental, la Alejandre Foundation tiene la habilidad de emparejar al beneficiario con un proveedor. Los beneficiarios están libres de seleccionar a un profesional de salud mental de manera independiente.
El Directorio de Terapeutas en Latinx Therapy es una colección de profesionales de salud mental a través de el país que proveen servicios de alta calidad y afirman la identidad cultural a la comunidad Latinx. Este directorio no es exhaustivo y su intención es para ofrecerle un lugar para empezar a buscar un profesional de salud mental en su área.
Animamos a los beneficiarios del programa Therapy Dinero a visitar la página de web de los terapeutas y revisar con las entidades de licenciatura profesional en su estado para asegurar que el terapeuta tiene licencia, en regla y elegible a practicar en su estado.
Tener perfil en el directorio no quiere decir que el profesional de salud mental está promocionado de cualquier manera por la fundación, Alejandre Foundation.
Renuncia de responsabilidad incluido con el siguiente término: La fundación, Alejandre Foundation, y Latinx Therapy no asumen responsabilidad legal o similar a todos los asuntos relacionados a la relación de terapeuta y cliente que puede resultar de la participación en el directorio como terapeuta disponible para servicios para los beneficiarios del programa Therapy Dinero.
Profesionales de salud mental del directorio Latinx Therapy que eligen hacerse disponibles para los beneficiarios del programa son responsables de adherirse a los requisitos profesionales de HIPAA y requisitos y guías legales. Igualmente, profesionales de salud mental que escogen ser participantes como proveedores serán responsables por cobertura de seguro de liability profesional , HIPAA y otros requisitos y cumplimientos de informes, y aspectos relacionados de servicios proveídos a los participantes del programa piloto. Cada terapeuta participante está de acuerdo de liberar la fundación, Alejandre Foundation, y la red profesional de proveedores de responsabilidad relacionada a lo mismo. Al entregar su aplicación está indicando la decisión de ser parte del programa Therapy Dinero de la fundación, Alejandre Foundation. Esta dando consentimiento de manera consciente y por voluntad propia a los términos de arriba.
No derechos de terceros: Nada expresado o referido en la aplicación de Therapy Dinero serán interpretadas para darle a patria person mas que el aplicante individual buscando terapia derechos o atribución con respecto a la aplicación y/o aceptación a los vales para terapia gratis.
Estos vales no serán asignados: La única razón y beneficio exclusivo de estos vales serán en beneficio de la persona en la forma de admisión, el aplicante. La aplicación afirma que no son aplicantes de tercero, por definición la persona enviando la forma de aplicación es el individuo nombrado en la aplicación. Cualquier violación de este término por un único tercero aplicando rendirá el nombre del individuo nombrado inelegible para recibir vales del programa Therapy Dinero. Cualquier violacion de este término por un tercero aplicante terapeuta, consejero, psicólogo rendirá el terapeuta/consejero/psicólogo ineligible a solicitar pago por sesiones asociadas por el individuo nombrado en la aplicación.
Quejas: Si en cualquier momento durante los servicios de terapia un beneficiario no está dispuesto a continuar services, el beneficiario tendrá que notificar al la fundación, Alejandre Foundation, por correo electrónico a he***@al*****************.org. Por favor asegure que haga todo intento de trabajar en una solución al problema con su terapeuta antes de hacer el cambio. Solamente los beneficiarios que han usado menos de 3 sesiones serán permitidos a pedir un terapeuta nuevo. Quejas serán resueltas a la discreción del Consejo y la Junta Directiva.
